Teacher Diversity Program, NewSchools Venture Fund – Aug 6
Posted by NewSchools Venture Fund on July 27, 2021
The NewSchools Venture Fund works to reimagine public education through powerful ideas, passionate educators, and visionary innovators and provide all children — especially those in underserved communities — with the opportunity to succeed.
To that end, the fund invites applications for its Teacher Diversity funding opportunity. Through the program, one-year grants of between $150,000 and $250,000 will be awarded in support of innovative approaches to advancing educator diversity and retaining and supporting AAPI, BIPOC, and Latino/Latinx teachers, so they remain in the field longer. After a year, ventures will become eligible for additional support. In addition, awardees will receive management assistance, including access to relevant, timely, and customized support from the NewSchools team and external experts as well as opportunities to build relationships with and learn from other leaders focused on teacher diversity.
While the fund will prioritize investing in early-stage organizations (up to two years old), it will also invest in new initiatives (up to two years old) at existing organizations. AAPI, BIPOC, and Latino/Latinx leaders are highly encouraged to apply.
Deadline to apply is August 6, 2021.
