Targeted Self-Care: Redefining Your Approach to Healthy Living – Feb 3
Posted by Community Health Training Alliance on January 26, 2021
The COVID-19 pandemic can feel overwhelming and stressful due to longer work hours and caring for yourself and others. More of us are experiencing, anxiety, fear, anger, sadness, and helplessness. Self-care is important so you are equipped to maintain your physical, emotional, mental, social, and spiritual health. The PEMSS model is a holistic approach that focuses on five areas (Physical, Emotional, Mental, Social and Spiritual) and properly implementing applicable, direct self-care from any of these areas. Using this model will eradicate the challenge of identifying self-care behaviors that are effective for maintaining personal and professional well-being in the face of the unique demands of work.
Dr. Holly Sawyer will discuss how we can holistically take care of five distinct areas of health (Physical, Emotional, Mental, Social and Spiritual) and implement specified self-care patterns. We aim to go beyond topical self-care conversations, and identify effective and targeted self-care behaviors for maintaining personal and professional well-being in the face of external stressors and adverse stimuli.
