Presenter: Michael Schuman, is a noted attorney and economist and current Vice President for Enterprise Development for the Maine-based Training & Development Corporation. In Small Mart, Schuman argues that even though local businesses have suffered setbacks during the recent era of globalization, they still make up more than half the economy-and are on the verge of a huge comeback. He will discuss his book, and also some of his recent work promoting “leak-plugging” economic development, Local First campaigns, buy-local loyalty cards, state-based stock markets, and business-subsidy reforms.
