On June 3, 2003, from 8:30 to 12:30 the Greater Philadelphia Food Bank is hosting the first Greater Philadelphia Symposium on Childhood Hunger at the Arch Street Friends Meeting House. This event is part of National Hunger Awareness Day efforts sponsored by the national network of food banks and food rescue programs, America’s Second Harvest. Together with the City of Philadelphia, Philabundance, NDS, SHARE, the Greater Philadelphia Coalition Against Hunger and the Food Trust, this symposium invites leaders and advocates for children to consider the impact of childhood hunger and under nutrition on health, education and social service public policy. Registration information will be distributed in early May. For more information or to receive an invitation, please contact Jan Barnett at the GPFB at 215-739-7394 or e mail [email protected].
