SCI-West offers sustainable communities grants
Sustainable Communities Initiative West has issued a request for proposals for the SCI-West Community Grant Awards, which provide one-time grants of $3,000 to support the efforts of community-based organizations to implement small projects for community beautification, safety and security; providing community-based events and educational programs; and supporting environmental projects and programs.
Examples of activities that can be funded include by are not limited to cleaning, landscaping, fencing, installation of porch or alley lighting, painting and other block maintenance like sidewalk repair, block cleanups, town watch activities, community workshops that promote healthy living, and educational projects in partnership with local schools.
The SCI-West Community Grant Awards are funded by the Local Initiative Support Corporation (LISC) and offered in collaboration between the four SCI-West project partners that include: the Enterprise Center CDC, the Partnership CDC, the University City District, and the People’s Emergency Center CDC.
