With the rapid development that has occurred in the US since World War II, some feel we are quickly running out of available land, natural resources and space. While we lament sprawl and try to revive city living, most of us opt for th convenience and livability of the suburbs.
Liberals feel that Europe promotes a more sustainable model of development using its limited space more wisely, strictly regulating construction and business practices. Conservatives contend that government restrictions stilt growth, causing high unemployment and stagnation. Join our facilitated discussion over dinner, as we consider two very different approaches to development, and talk about the ramifications for the rest of the world.
Friday Forum is a dinner discussion series that brings thoughtful people together in a casual setting to discuss important regional, national, and international issues. No expertise necessary! Just check out a few articles before the dinner then come to enjoy great food and conversation! Visit the Citizen Academy page at http://www.philacares.com for articles from various perspectives.
