Job description
F/T Support Specialist position and substitute positions available in our Community Participation program. Desired candidate must be able to provide guidance, training and supervision for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities while out in the community. We are seeking only compassionate applicants who want to make a difference in the lives of those living with disabilities. The position entails working within the community at different volunteer sites. Support Specialists help participants to learn new skills, create relationships, and make meaningful contributions within their community. This is a field based position, working in the Philadelphia and near suburban areas. Minimal time spent in office.
Position requires a High School diploma or equivalent and one year experience or study in the Human Service field. Bachelor’s degree in Social services, Psychology, or Special Education is a plus. Good communication and writing skills are necessary. Applicant must have own vehicle with a good driving record and clear criminal background in order to be considered for this position. Our program runs Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5pm, excluding holidays; base salary starting at $10.88 per hour. Full benefit package available for F/T position. Substitute positions offer flexibility and entry level experience for college students and those employed part time.
