Support Specialist position available to provide guidance, training and supervision for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities while out in the community. We are seeking only compassionate applicants who want to make a difference in the lives of those living with disabilities. The position entails working in the community at different volunteer and employment sites. Support Specialists help participants to learn new skills, create relationships, and make meaningful contributions within their community. This is a field based position, working in the Philadelphia and near suburban areas. Minimal time spent in office.
Position requires a High School diploma or equivalent and one year experience or study in the Human Service field. Bachelor’s degree in Social services, Psychology, or Special Education is a plus. Applicant must have own vehicle with a good driving record and clear criminal background in order to be considered for this position. Applicant must be flexible to work in both of our programs – Supported Employment and Community Participation. Hourly rate will fluctuate between programs. The base for Community Participation is $10.88 per hour and the base for Supported Employment is $13.00 per hour. This is a full time 40 hour per week position. Full benefits package available.
