Support and Funding Opportunity for School District of Philadelphia Teachers: CONNECT YOUR CLUB TO NEARBY NATURE WITH ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION PROVIDERS

With funding support from the School District of Philadelphia for After-School Enrichment programs, Stroud Water Research Center is providing professional development opportunities, model lessons, and instructional supplies for teachers leading or interested in leading before- and after-school environmental, nature, and science programs during the 2023-2024 school year. The Stroud Center is partnering with four local environmental education providers to support this group of teachers.

NOW ACCEPTING TEACHERS FOR THE 2023-24 SCHOOL YEAR.

This program includes:

  • A 3-day introductory workshop in August
  • Monthly, virtual professional development and check-ins
  • Club visits by our partnering organizations to model lessons
  • $2,000 of instructional supplies of your choosing
  • An off-site field excursion for your club
  • A culminating 3-day workshop at the end of the school year
