Supervisory Management is both and art and a science. A good supervisor makes very attempt to integrate the needs and goals of the employees with the needs and goals of the organization. This quest is not always easy. This presentation will explore the role of empowerment, motivation and personal development through the supervisory relationship as a means for success in working with employees in an agency based organization.

Participants will learn skills to help them:

* Explain the role of empowerment and indicate ways to increase empowerment
* Recognize the importance of delegation
* Understand why some leaders are reluctant to delegate and why employees may not welcome delegation
* Explain the relationship between performance and motivation
* Explain how generational difference affect motivation
* Identify five steps to motivating employees

Additional support and funding for this workshop is provided by Learn & Serve America and the Philadelphia Higher Education Network for Neighborhood Development.
