Posted by Philadelphia Youth Network on March 9, 2015
About PYN: The Philadelphia Youth Network (PYN) is an intermediary organization dedicated to connecting systems and leveraging resources to equip young people for academic achievement, economic opportunity and personal success. To achieve this mission, we manage and support large-scale, cross-sector initiatives to develop targeted programs that allow early access to educational and employment services for underserved youth in the region.
Our 15 years of experience designing, nurturing and sustaining cross-sector approaches demonstrate its unique, valuable role in improving education and employment outcomes. To that end, we organize our work around four core functions:
- Convening and leading cross sector partnerships and initiatives that enhance opportunities available to Philadelphia youth
- Connecting the necessary resources, systems and investments to ensure citywide coordination of youth serving initiatives
- Measuring impact and evaluating progress by collecting and analyzing data, promoting continuous improvement
- Sustaining impact by influencing policy, building public awareness and maximizing the impact of youth serving systems through collective effort
About the Program Services Division: The Program Services Division (PSD) designs, manages and replicates evidence-based college and career pathways for youth. As a conduit for local, regional and national best practices, the PSD ensures that programs achieve operational efficiency and remain in compliance with funding mandates and are comprehensively evaluated to demonstrate the impact of the investment and services on youth in Philadelphia. Additionally, the PSD provides access to opportunities for professional learning and development for leadership and staff of youth-serving organizations. In partnership with stakeholders who invest in the youth workforce development system and sub-contractors who directly serve the youth, PSD manages the resources of over $15 million for services to nearly 10,000 youth annually.
