Summer Invitational Writing and Literacy Institute

The Philadelphia Writing Project (PhilWP) at the Graduate School of Education, University of Pennsylvania is now accepting requests for applications for its annual Summer Invitational Writing and Literacy Institute. The Institute will be held on Penn’s campus starting July 30 through August 17, 2007 from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM daily. A mandatory Pre Institute will be held on June 9, 2007 for all accepted applicants and there are two four-hour mandatory school year meetings. Applications must be received or post marked by March 30, 2007. Participants who complete all of the requirements of the Institute including follow-up meetings during the 07-08 school year will receive 3 cus (9 continuing education credits, which equal 270 ACT 48 hours) from the University of Pennsylvania. Tuition scholarships are awarded to all accepted applicants.
Information sessions will be held at Penn’s Graduate School of Information, 3700 Walnut St. on Saturday, March 17, 2007 at 9:00 AM and at the PFT Health and Welfare Conference on March 3, 2007. School based information sessions can be arranged for five or more interested teachers by calling the PhilWP office.
