Summer Invitational Institute on Writing and Literacy

The Philadelphia Writing Project at the University of Pennsylvania is currently accepting applications for its 2005 Summer Invitational Institute on Writing and Literacy. The Institute will focus on helping teachers become better teachers of writing as it connects to all areas of curriculum. It will also examine the critical connections amongst issues of race, class, gender, language, ethnicity, place and power to literacy, learning and leadership. The Institute will meet Mondays through Fridays, August 1 through August 19 from 9 AM to 3:30 PM and four times during the school year. The Writing Project will award a scholarship to successful applicants for three continuing education credits from the University of Pennsylvania. The Summer Institutes have received 100% satisfaction rating from teacher participants since 1986. Apply today! Applications are due May 6, 2005.
