SUMMER INTERNSHIP
Through Penn’s Netter Center for Community Partnerships
Every summer the Community Schools program out of the Netter Center recruits college students to work as Servant Leader Interns (SLI’s) in our Freedom School summer program across multiple community school sites in West Philadelphia. SLI’s are trained to lead classrooms of about 10 elementary age students from West Philadelphia in a literacy curriculum in the morning and enrichment activities in the afternoon. This is an incredibly rewarding experience. All majors are welcome to apply. Applications must be e-mailed electronically to [email protected] by midnight on April 10th.
First round application deadline: April 10th
Training at the University of MD scheduled for June 3rd-9th
Program runs for 6 weeks from June to August
Placements can be made earlier in the summer for workstudy students interested in earning their entire summer workstudy award.
Work-study and non work-study can apply
$12/hour, 40 hours a week
For more information contact: [email protected]
Applications can be found on the NCCP homepage http://www.upenn.edu/ccp.
