Program Coordinator Summer Internship
The United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania’s (UWSEPA) mission is to harness, leverage and strategically invest the collective power of donors, advocates and volunteers, to drive measurable results that improve the lives of people in our region.
The summer intern will provide overall administration of the Lubert Individual Development Account (IDA) Program, a flagship investment within UWSEPA’s Income priority work. The Lubert IDA Program is a matched savings program that helps individual purchase their first home or enroll in post-secondary education. The intern will be an integral member of the Income unit and Community Impact Department at UWSEPA.
Key responsibilities of this position include:
• Assist the Manager and Director of Income at United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania in the administration of UWSEPA’s $2million Lubert Individual Development Account (IDA) Program.
• Coordinate a network of community based organizations within the Lubert IDA Program for the recruitment, enrollment, and graduation of participants.
• Monitor the program’s budget and work closely with Finance to process payments toward post-secondary education or first home purchases.
• Conduct outreach on the Lubert IDA Program to bolster sub-grantee’s recruitment efforts, such as attending various community events celebrating IDA Program graduates or designing an information sheet for UWSEPA’s website.
• Maintain basic records for all participants in the IDA Program and collect monthly reports from all sub-grantees.
• Develop and execute a base-line evaluation using data previously collected during enrollment and graduation of participants from the IDA Program over the past five years.
• Other related duties as assigned.
Education Requirements:
• Intern must be a college student or college graduate
Skills Required:
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Excellent organizational, self-direction and time management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentation skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
Hours:
• Part-time position. $20 per hour. Position dates from mid-May to early August.
