Summer 2022 Freedom Schools Literacy Academy Apprenticeship
Posted by The Center for Black Educator Development on March 8, 2022
The Freedom Schools Literacy Academy is seeking talented Black men and women—from high school sophomores, juniors and seniors and college students or school paraprofessionals interested in becoming educators or working with K-12 students.
Our paid apprenticeships provide opportunities for promising future educators to work with and learn from a select corps of experienced educator-activists who teach, model, advise and mentor educator-apprentices to inspire their career paths and show them the power of a truly liberatory education.
Ideal applicants are committed to educational justice and are open to taking on challenges, engaging in courageous conversations and responding to constructive feedback. Must be solutions-oriented and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
Applicants must be available to work between June 20-August 8, 2022. Paid training and coaching included. Virtual and in-person positions are available.
