Inspired by the work of anthropologist and fashion writer, Ted Polhemus, Style Tribes v2.0 explores the tribal connection between fashion, music and youth-oriented social groups like skaters, surfers and punks.

MYX: Multicultural Youth eXchange, is a Philadelphia-based nonprofit organization. Our goal is to improve Philadelphia?s social environment by making young people more tolerant of diverse populations, primarily by dispelling ignorance about different cultures and by emphasizing the aspirations and concerns that are common to all people.

Because art is present in all cultures and communicates universal feelings and interpretations of the physical world we all share, MYX uses it in a central way to educate young people about tolerance and to empower them to educate others.

Since it?s launch in Spring 2002, MYX has taught diversity to young people through quarterly youth art exhibits and art-based workshops at the MYX Gallery.

MYX was founded in direct response to the tragedies of September 11, 2001.
