Student Summit: Building Student Leaders, Strengthening Our Schools
Posted by on October 27, 2008
The Philadelphia Student Union, in collaboration with Citywide Student Government, will present the Fall 2008 Student Summit: Building Student Leaders, Strengthening Our Schools on October 30th.
The Student Summit will bring together 200 students from high schools across Southeast Pennsylvania for a day of free educational workshops and discussions, aimed at engaging students in building a vision for public education. Workshops and caucuses will build the on-going statewide campaign for equal school funding, encouraging student leadership and fostering deeper student and parent involvement in high school reform.
The summit will take place from 9am-4pm at Rodeph Shalom Synagogue, 615 North Broad Street, Philadelphia. The sponsors aim to engage high school students from every grade; from many schools, districts, neighborhoods and backgrounds. To recommend a student for participation, email studentsummit@phillystudentunion.org or call 215-471-5970.
