Student Energy Efficiency Case Study Contest: Win $500!

Attention students and educators!
Are you currently teaching or learning about energy efficiency?

Students can now enter for a chance to win $500 prize for the best case study on energy efficiency projects.

Purpose: The Energy Efficiency Case Study project is intended to highlight energy efficiency projects that
are currently underway or have been recently completed. By studying current projects, students will both
learn about energy efficiency activities and help raise awareness of new technologies.

Criteria: The case study should include the following information:
• Project Background: Description of type of facility, the reason the project was undertaken, and the
objectives of the project.
• Technology: Description of the type of technology used. You may want to describe how it works and
how it differs from the ‘old’ technology it replaces.
• Economics: Describe the program costs and savings. If there were state, federal or utility subsidies
that paid for a portion of the project, describe what programs were used and how they improved the
payback period of the project.
• Environmental Benefits: Describe how the program reduces air pollution, waste or other ways it
benefits the environment.
Deadlines: All submissions must be received by PowerMinders by November 1, 2009. The award winner
will be announced during the first week in January. Submissions should be sent by email to
educators@powerminders.com

Review Panel: All submissions will be reviewed by an outside panel of academic and industry experts.
Submissions may be in any media‐‐ written, video, or web‐based. All submissions will be featured in an
online project library.
