Empowering College Endowments: Transforming the Corporate Paradigm

~~~~~~~~~~~~ October 16-17, 2004 ~~~~~~~~~~~~
University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia
Organized by the Responsible Endowments Coalition
Shareholder Activism! Community Investment! Socially Responsible Investing (SRI)!
These tactics have transformed the positions of numerous large multi-national corporations on a wide range of social and environmental issues–from sweatshops and human rights to global warming and environmental policies.
Come join us for the first national student conference of its kind: Empowering
College Endowments–Transforming the Corporate Paradigm! Right now, your school has millions of dollars or in some cases billions of dollars that could be helping to make a huge difference both locally and globally on issues that matter to you.
By attending the conference, you’ll get the opportunity to:
– Spend the weekend in downtown Philadelphia
– Learn from successful student leaders
– Talk with other students that care about the same issues you do
– Go out on the town Friday and Saturday night with your new friends
Also, we’ll be discussing how to successfully navigate a campus bureaucracy, how to talk about invested assets with trustees and fellow students, and how to run an effective campaign to empower your schools’ assets on issues you care about.
But wait, there’s more! Beyond getting a kick-ass crash course from student leaders in the field, you’ll get to lend your voice and have a say in how we shape the national agenda for the coming year. A unified student force has an unprecedented opportunity to assure that student voices are heard loud and clear at schools across the country and that we see big results this spring!
Come descend on Philadelphia this October 16 and 17 as we unite on Empowering College Endowments!!!
Early Registration: $15. After October 10: $25.
Registration fee includes breakfast and lunch on both days and housing on Friday
and Saturday night.
We are committed to making sure everyone can attend. Please contact us if you need financial or logistical assistance.
