Street Games festival planned for September
The Jon Drummond Achievement Foundation, in partnership with Philadelphia Councilman Curtis Jones, Jr., will present Street Games™– a “fun, free health & fitness festival” for youth and their families on Saturday, September 26th from 10am to 5pm.
The event is expected to attract more than 2,000 boys and girls ages 6 to 18, along with their parents, community leaders and volunteers from local universities and city neighborhoods, to the Park West Town Center at 52nd & Jefferson Streets in West Philadelphia.
The festival will provide an opportunity for young and old to play “old skool” street games like foursquare (king ball), double dutch, hopscotch and skully with celebrity athletes and entertainers and local politicians. It will also feature free health screenings and human services information, as well as a live stage show featuring national and local artists and entertainers.
