PhillyBOLT (Build Our Lives Together) was founded in January 2022 as a registered 501c(3) organization to empower grassroots leaders to bring the change their communities want to see. We envision a future where every neighborhood is thriving, led by the people living there.

We are looking for someone who is an excellent writer and dynamic communicator to help tell the story of BOLT’s work to achieve its vision: for every neighborhood to thrive, led by the people living there. The Storyteller will partner with BOLT’s Executive Director, Chief of Staff, Youth Advisory Board, and participants to elevate the impact stories of our members and partners and to increase visibility and awareness around our organization and programs.

The Storyteller should resonate deeply with BOLT’s core values; be an effective written and oral communicator; and be comfortable with grant-writing and marketing media, including social media, newsletters, blogs, etc.

Requirements:

  • Resident of Philadelphia
  • All three of these clearances are required: Criminal background, Child Abuse, FBI Fingerprints (acceptable if completed between January 1, 2018, and January 1, 2023. If results are outside of this date range, new clearances must be obtained)
  • Minimum two-years experience writing in a professional or academic capacity, preferably in grant-writing
  • Full vaccination against the COVID-19 virus.
  • Willing and able to get around Philadelphia independently; has reliable mode of transportation; having access to a reliable car is desirable
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Legally authorized to be a full-time employee in the US
