Store Manager, Mariposa Food Co-op

Mariposa Food Co-op is seeking enthusiastic candidates for a Store Manager position.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

–25-30 hours/week (primarily in-store), including a mix of weekday, weekend, and evening shifts. Potential to increase hours as the store expands.

–Overseeing daily store operations: directing member workers, responding to member/prospective member inquiries, receiving and processing deliveries, cashiering, answering phone, maintaining order and cleanliness of the storefront

–Sharing responsibility for physical maintenance of the store/building

–Attending weekly Staff and Store Manager meetings

QUALIFICATIONS:

–Managerial and retail experience.

–Grocery and natural food experience

–Experience handling produce

–A demonstrated commitment to anti-racism, anti-oppression, and social justice

–Ability to direct, supervise, and work with numerous member-workers

–Good communication skills

–Ability to multi-task

–Ability to work well in a team and relate effectively to people of diverse backgrounds

–Attention to detail and organization

–Ability to self-motivate and self-direct in relation to Mariposa’s goals

–Experience working collectively and/or with consensus decision-making

–Ability to learn quickly!

–Experience with co-operatives (especially food) and/or non-profit organizations

–Interest in alternative business models

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

–$12.25/hour with a yearly raise
