STILL WE TEACH. STILL WE RISE. Summit – Feb 7

Posted by The Center for Black Educator Development on January 6, 2026

Join us for a national convening advancing educator practices for Black history educator-leaders, policymakers, community activists & more!

Blackprint 20 exists to mark a generational moment in Black educational history while intentionally strengthening the work of educators and communities today. Grounded in the centennial of Carter G. Woodson’s launch of Negro History Week and the milestone of Philadelphia’s African American History graduation requirement, the convening invites reflection on how Black history has been preserved, contested, and carried forward over time.

This event is occurring to not just celebrate Philadelphia’s leadership in teaching Black history, but again lay a “blackprint” foundation on what Black history education sounds and should feel like for teachers, students, and community members.

Blackprint 20 brings people together to consider the responsibilities that come with this legacy and to reaffirm education as a practice of freedom. Through collective learning and shared purpose, the gathering centers teacher endurance, deepens historical understanding, and supports culturally rooted approaches to teaching that ensure Black history remains vital and sustained across generations.
