States’ Progress and Challenges in Implementing Common Core State Standards
The Center on Education Policy (CEP) invites you to download its new report on states’ progress and plans for implementing the voluntary K-12 common core state learning standards. As more states sign onto common core standards in English language arts and math, CEP identifies the major changes these states plan to make, including changes to assessments, curriculum materials, professional development, and teacher evaluations.
CEP surveyed state deputy superintendents from 42 states and the District of Columbia. Its report, States’ Progress and Challenges in Implementing Common Core Standards, finds that while states are moving forward, full implementation of the standards is several years away for most states and many challenges that lie ahead.
