State High School Exit Exams: Impact of the College and Career Readiness Movement
Posted by on December 11, 2011
The Center on Education Policy (CEP) invites you to download its new report on state-level trends for high school exit exams. The report, based on state-level surveys, describes possible changes to come in state testing policies due to the adoption of the Common Core State Standards and common assessments.
State High School Exit Exams: Changes in State Policies and the Impact of the College and Career Readiness Movement, shows that twenty-five states have or plan to implement policies that require students to pass an exit exam to receive a high school diploma—three fewer states than in 2010. An additional six states have or plan to put in place high school exit exams but do not require students to meet a minimum passing standard on those exams to graduate.
