Get Ready for Cover the Uninsured Week 2007!
Start planning for Cover the Uninsured Week, April 23-29, 2007! Mark your calendars and plan how you and your community can help get America covered.
With the help of supporters like you, Cover the Uninsured Week 2006 was a tremendous success:
* Supporters organized more than 4,700 activities to elevate the issue of health coverage on the national agenda. Events included business seminars, interfaith events, health and enrollment fairs, press conferences and more.
* Concerned citizens sent more than 60,000 e-mails to the U.S. Congress urging them to make health care coverage their top priority.
* More than 175 elected officials participated in the Week. Former Presidents Gerald Ford and Jimmy Carter once again served as Honorary Co-Chairs, and 10 former Surgeons General and Health and Human Services secretaries signed an open letter to the American people.
* More than 200 national organizations and more than 3,500 local organizations participated.
We hope to build on this success. Please visit http://www.CoverTheUninsured.org to download guides to get started planning events such as press conferences, health and enrollment fairs, and interfaith breakfasts. Additional information will be posted as plans for 2007 develop.
We look forward to working with you to help get America covered!
