Sports Administration Internship, Black Women in Sport Foundation

Black Women in Sport Foundation (BWSF) provides internship opportunities for students that are pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees. BWSF welcomes students that are majoring in sports management, physical education, exercise sciences or media communications/journalism. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

Office Management:

  • Developing and implementing office management techniques
  • Organizing office area and equipment room
  • Updating inventory lists for sports equipment and office supplies
  • Assisting with grant/proposal writing and research
  • Assisting with planning and coordination of fundraising and special events
  • Attending special events and meetings

Communications:

  • Answering incoming phone calls
  • Responding to email threads and voicemail
  • Development of materials for websites and other social media accounts
  • Compiling information for the newsletter

Recruitment:

  • Assisting with recruitment and registration for undergraduate/graduate interns
  • Recruiting volunteers, summer staff and coaches
  • Coordinating interview appointments for candidates/workers

Coaching: (as needed)

  • Monitoring and evaluating program activities and program management
  • Training and conducting fitness and sports activities for young athletes
  • Submitting weekly reports for assigned program sites
  • Attending schedule staff meetings and sports trainings

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled at a College or University
  • Experience with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Must have the following clearances: Pennsylvania Criminal Background Clearance, Pennsylvania
  • Child Abuse Clearance, and FBI Clearance
