Ursula Rucker @ Scribe
Renowned poet and recording artist Ursula Rucker will teach two workshops @ Scribe in August!
Green Screen Performance Video
Starts Monday, August 6
Calling all poets, spoken word artists, rappers, and musicians! Take this inter-generational workshop and leave with your very own performance video incorporating green screen special effects. Each student will work with poet and recording artist Ursula Rucker to create a new performance piece for the camera. Working as crew on each other’s project, students will learn the basics of setting up a green screen, lighting, shooting and the post-production process of working with green screen footage.
Open to Youth (11-19yrs) and Adults! MORE INFO HERE

Where Writing Comes From
Starts Tuesday, August 7
Ursula Rucker will help participants find their voice through the process of creating a performance monologue. A soliloquy told simply and directly is what thrills us about radio, theater and often film. The audio monologue is the essence of storytelling. Workshop participants are invited to come with an idea, an image or experience that they would like to explore and write about. Finished works may be thought of as a performance work or as the script for an audio or video piece. MORE INFO HERE.
