Dr. Leshner will speak about the recommendations of the IOM Committee on Priorities for a Public Health Research Agenda to Reduce the Threat of Firearm-Related Violence, which he chaired, and his related scientific perspectives on the direction of future research to “improve knowledge of the causes of firearm violence, the interventions that might prevent it, and strategies to minimize its public health burden.
