Presbyterian Children’s Village is currently seeking a full-time Special Education Teacher for our all female Residential Treatment Facility School located in Delaware County. This is a full-year (52-week) position. The Special Education Teacher is responsible for the preparation of lesson plans in accordance with state PDE standards and PCV curriculum. In addition the Special Education Teacher is responsible for ensuring that all IEPs are appropriate for the students, working with educational treatment counselors and other PCV school staff on the implementation of behavior management systems ensures the physical safety and well-being of each student and de-escalations/crisis intervention of students within the PCV School. Also monitors student progress and informs the Director of Educational Services of any concerns regarding student progress.
The qualified candidate for this position must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Special Education, PA Special Education Certification is REQUIRED. Must have a minimum of two years teaching experience of troubled teens and adolescents. Experience in a residential treatment facility school PREFERRED. Must be able to successfully pass all motor vehicle, criminal, child abuse and FBI clearances. Must have a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
