Sparking Civic Action: Introducing the IGNITE Cycle

Whether you’ve been facilitating service-learning for years or are just beginning your journey, you know the magic that happens when students connect classroom learning with real-world community impact. Service-learning builds critical thinking, civic identity, and personal growth.
To better support educators and youth in this work, the National Youth Leadership Council (NYLC) is excited to introduce their updated service-learning cycle: IGNITE. IGNITE provides a simple, six-phase roadmap designed to guide youth from initial curiosity to meaningful community change.
