3rd Annual SALSA Workshop
Reach Out: Partnerships to Benefit YOU

SALSA (Southern Alleghenies Learn and Serve Alliance) strives to foster collaborative service-learning between K-12 students, community-based partners and higher education institutions for the benefit of the Southern Alleghenies Region.

May 1, 2010
8:00 a.m.— 4:00 p.m.
Juniata College, Huntingdon, PA
von Leibig Center for Science

Open to the community, the workshop is designed to unite community partners, students, faculty, and staff interested in learning more about service-learning and civic engagement.

Who Should Attend?
We’re going to Reach Out!
The workshop will empower and educate students about service-learning and civic engagement. It will encourage faculty and staff to participate in service-learning activities and bring civic engagement to the classroom and the workplace. It will develop and strengthen ties between community partners, organizations and the classroom and the community.

What if I want to Present?
You’re going to Reach Out!
We are looking for presentations that explore the different facets of service-learning and civic engagement. Extra consideration will be given to workshops that engage the audience. We encourage students, staff, faculty and community partners to present. We are also looking for agencies and institutions to set up
information tables in the lobby.
