Solar Energy Teacher, Frankford High School, School District of Philadelphia
Posted by School District of Philadelphia on April 21, 2020
Frankford High School, a Philadelphia School District neighborhood high school, is hiring a teacher for the first Solar Energy Career and Technical Education (CTE) program ever offered in Pennsylvania.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone in the clean energy field to share their expertise with the next generation of solar workers. The teacher will have tremendous support. The Philadelphia Energy Authority (PEA) has led a team of partners to develop the curriculum and lesson plans and there will be extensive professional development. If the ideal candidate does not already have a teaching certification, they will be eligible for an emergency certification through the District and supported to receive teacher training at Temple University. In addition, a brand-new solar lab with state-of-the-art equipment is being built at Frankford High to house the program.
Interested candidates are encouraged to apply using the login and apply button at the bottom of the job posting. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
