The Center for Hunger-Free Communities at Drexel University is seeking qualified candidates for the following positions:
Social Work Intern
The Center is looking for a Social Work Student Intern for the Building Wealth and Health Network (The Network), a microfinance/self-empowerment intervention research study implementing a peer-oriented, asset-building model that helps parents break the cycle of poverty. The Intern would perform initial needs assessments with Network participants, maintain a familiarity with community services and resources for referrals and assistance, and serve as an advocate – on behalf of participants – with securing services and resources in the community. The role would also allow for participation in case management program development planning.
Learning opportunities exist in social policy, economic and social justice, ethics, critical thinking, and problem solving.
