NCSS: Social Studies Programs of Excellence Award
The National Council for the Social Studies Programs of Excellence Award provides recognition for outstanding social studies programs currently being implemented in the United States and to encourage the growth and development of innovative and effective programs in the social studies. Maximum award: commemorative gift for the institution; teacher certificates; Annual Conference session presentation; and publicity. Eligibility: district-wide at the elementary school, middle school/junior high, senior high, or K-12 levels; individual schools at these levels or divisions of these levels; non-commercial organizations, agencies, or institutions in ongoing association with schools or districts. Deadline: April 30, 2011.
