SNAP Healthy Incentive Pilots
Posted by on January 25, 2010
SNAP Healthy Incentive Pilots: On December 18, 2009, USDA’s Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) posted its Request for Applications for the Healthy Incentives Pilot (HIP) funded under the 2008 Farm Bill. One arm of the Healthy Incentives Pilot will test the effect of providing “point of sale” financial incentives for the purchase of fruits and vegetables on the diet quality of SNAP households. The pilot will operate in one selected state between December 2011 and February 2013. Letters of intent to apply are due January 29, 2010; and complete applications are due May 21, 2010. FNS will hold a conference call in February for states that submit a letter of intent by 1/29/10. Click here for more information from USDA.
