Smoke Signals: Forum on City’s tobacco policy

The Penn Project for Civic Engagement and WHYY are working with the Philadelphia Department of Public Health to gather public input about tobacco policy in the city.

The first of five forums around the city will be held in June. The rest will be held in the fall.

Here’s information on the first forum:

SMOKE SIGNALS
The Philadelphia Department of Public Health invites you to a public dialogue on what the city should do about tobacco.

Hear the facts. Weigh the options.  Make your voice heard.

WHEN:  TUESDAY, JUNE 28, 6:30 P.M.

WHERE: PINN MEMORIAL BAPTIST CHURCH
2251 N. 54TH., ST., PHILADELPHIA

WHAT:   HEAR THE FACTS ABOUT TOBACCO USE IN THE CITY, AND THE OPTIONS THE CITY IS CONSIDERING TO LIMIT THE HEALTH EFFECTS. THEN JOIN WITH OTHER CITIZENS TO DISCUSS WHICH OF THOSE OPTIONS YOU WOULD OR WOULD NOT SUPPORT.

WHY:   YOUR INPUT IS VITAL AS THE PHILADELPHIA COMMUNITY DECIDES WHAT TO DO ABOUT THE HEALTH IMPACTS AND COSTS OF TOBACCO.

THE FORUMS WILL BE COVERED BY WHYY NEWS ON RADIO AND THE WEB.
