In an effort to curb childhood obesity, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Advertising Council have joined forces to launch the campaign: Small Steps Kids. Through an interactive, kid-friendly website, information on the benefits of foods, nutrition/activity activities and challenges, links, and even commercials are provided to get kids to ?RUN, THROW, THINK and EAT BETTER?. Teacher materials have also been developed in partnership with Scholastic? to help 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade students build Language Arts and Math skills as they learn about health and fitness. Spanish versions of this site and a complementary site for adults are also available.
