Skill-Building & Networking Gatherings
Posted by Blue Door Group on August 24, 2015
We hope you are having fun in the sun this summer and getting some well-deserved vacation. The Blue Door Group has been designing and facilitating officially now for over a year! We’re so grateful for your support and wanted to tell you about what we’ve been up to for the past year – and what lies ahead for 2015-2016.
Skill-Building & Networking Gatherings
2014-2015: Our 4 Skill-building and Networking Gatherings (2.5 hour professional development opportunities offered in the evening) brought 45 people together to learn more about various topics including interactive teaching tips, the art of asking questions, and facilitation skills.
2015-2016: We have a full slate of 6 gatherings, a great way to sample what Blue Door has to offer. Come meet some other great educators, trainers, & organizers and try out your skills. Our gatherings are always open to the public, and pizza is provided.

Creating Multilingual Training Spaces
Set up your training space so that speakers of different languages are able to interact effectively with each other.
Two-Day Train-the-Trainer Series
2014-2015: We held three Train-the-Trainer series, providing over 40 trainers, educators and facilitators with twelve hours of training tools, feedback and networking. See what participants said about the series.
2015-2016: We’ll be offering our Train-the-Trainer again in the winter and spring of 2016. Learn new approaches and practice existing skills in workshop design, facilitation, and training theory – and meet some great people!
Next Train-the-Trainer:
Fridays, January 29 & February 5, 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Who is The Blue Door Group?
Our focus is interaction and participation. We design, facilitate, and teach interactive processes for learning & capacity-building. We work in four core areas:
* Teaching Participatory Approaches to Education & Facilitation
* Organizational Capacity-Building
* Diversity Dialogues & Intercultural Communication
* Community-Building & Engagement
We were previous founders and members of the Philadelphia Trainers’ Collaborative (PTC), a volunteer-run skill-sharing organization for trainers and educators. We build on PTC’s strengths by offering in-depth skill-sharing and training opportunities utilizing participatory approaches.
2015-2016: We want to work with you! Check out our workshop list, explore our website, and contact us if you would like to discuss how we might support your work. Also please share this email if you know of someone who could use our services.
