Site Coordinator – Edison High School, Congreso de Latinos Unidos

The Edison High School Site Coordinator is responsible for the administration, coordination and supervision of group facilitators, safety monitor and sub-contractors. The Site Coordinator will assist the High School Manager in the development and oversight of the After School and Summer Programs at the school and relationship development and management with school staff and administration. In addition, the Site Coordinator will link the program with community resources and is responsible for client recruitment.
- Ensures overall program progress in the achievement of service objectives, and directs appropriate actions, or implements changes in the afterschool program to ensure the compliance of contractual obligations and accomplishment of program goals.
- Provides direct supervision, support and training to all site personnel (part-time, volunteers, interns, sub-contractors and youth).
- Coordinates weekly supportive staff meetings and daily debriefings to discuss concerns, program development, staff relations, and personal challenges.
- Maintain weekly check in’s with school staff to receive referrals and promote afterschool program.
- Attend and participate in school meetings as needed to promote afterschool program.
- Establishes performance standards for all personnel to assure that contractual service objectives are attained and that performance goals are met.
- Is responsible for hiring and management of HR related processes with the support of the High School Manager.
- Supervises and supports the Exito and Ambicion Case Managers operating programming at the site.
- Maintains and inventories equipment and supplies.
- Serves as a liaison between school staff and Congreso staff regarding use and maintenance of building, custodian and teacher relations, and administrative support.
- Participates in the formulation of program goals and objectives and administers program to meet such goals.
- Maintains accurate attendance records and completes data entry forms according to the PHMC Contract.
- Forms and maintains positive and supportive relationships with participants’ parents through monthly parent contact.
- Assists in the preparation of program concepts, curriculum and proposals for continuation of grants, and new funding opportunities.
- Makes relevant client referrals to internal Congreso programs and/or external resources
- Participates in the coordination, planning, and implementation of the annual Lights, Congreso Action! event and other related events.
- Ability to provide services to clients and staff that reflects Primary Client Model™ service delivery approaches that are Client-Centered, Data-Informed, and Culturally-Appreciative.
- Attend and participate in continuing education related to Primary Client Model™ which include active participation in quality circles and the maintenance of work according to the data established requirements.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Regularly direct the work of, schedule, and provide staff development opportunities and training to staff in the program.
- Make recommendations on HR matters such things as hiring, firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary counseling, salary adjustments, workload distribution, communication, recognition activities, and employee relations.
- Participate in the development of a programmatic budget as part of the organization’s budget preparation process, and operate within budget limitations.

- Ability to operate a computer and use a variety of common software programs including Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, UNIDAD, and customized databases.

Case Management experience
- Ability to articulate, promote, and model the organizational mission, vision and programmatic goals, and strategic plan.
- Understanding of legal/political policies and issues, community resources, and benefits addressing targeted client needs as they affect Congreso services (e.g. TANF, poverty, immigrants).
- Understanding of and implement guidelines and policy for programs and the organization.
- Ability to effectively implement human resources policies, employee relations, staff supervision, staff development, staff evaluation, and management practices in accordance with Congreso policies.
- Ability to read and understand a budget – making appropriate financial decisions (including review of spending levels).
- Ability to communicate results while applying a sophisticated understanding of performance management and data driven performance reviews.
- Ability to demonstrate sustained leadership in moving clients towards targeted outcomes.
- Ability to effectively conduct one on one advocacy and/or educational presentations.
- Ability to manage, evaluates, and distributes the work of an individual or teams either programmatically or by function.
Ability to monitor contract compliance.
Minimum Experience: 1-2 years of experience in providing direct service to youth. Knowledge of the Puerto Rican, Latino, and African American community and the resources available. Knowledge of the Philadelphia School System and curriculum standards. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
