Service-Learning Quality Matters
Posted by on November 12, 2012
I’m pleased to announce that NCLC has just released a research summary (the first of several) of the findings from our Schools of Success network evaluation. The Schools of Success network is a national network of schools, organized by NCLC and funded by the State Farm Foundation and Learn and Serve America, that use service-learning as an instructional strategy. This research summary focuses on the results of the evaluation showing that student participation in high-quality service-learning is positively related to gains in academic engagement, educational aspirations, acquisition of 21st century skills, and community engagement at statistically significant levels. Future research summaries will focus on additional findings of our evaluation.
You can read the research summary here: http://www.ecs.org/clearinghouse/01/05/09/10509.pdf
Please feel free to share this with your networks, colleagues, and friends, and through social media.
Best regards,
