New Foundations Charter School
Join the National Youth Leadership Council and New Foundations Charter School for an immersive two days of professional development with a community of like-minded educators. New Foundations Charter School has been implementing service-learning in their school for over 15 years and have been partnered with the National Youth Leadership Council since 2008.
Participants will:
» Develop an academically-aligned service-learning unit plan including rigorous assessments
» Experience activities that are replicable in the classroom.
» Understand how to incorporate students into the development and implementation of a service-learning unit.
» Receive tools and templates to use during the training and in their own practice.
» Learn from New Foundations Charter School students, teachers, and administrators about their experiences implementing service-learning in their school.

$350 per participant
One registration includes training materials for two (2) eight-hour training days. Lunch and coffee are provided both days.
» $100 off if you register before September 1, 2017.
» Deadline to register: September 29, 2017.
Service-learning helps students meet academic learning targets, positively impact their community, and gain leadership skills. In combination with a backwards design curriculum, service-learning gives educators the opportunity to transform their classrooms.
