Service as a Stress Reliever for Students

Did you know that school is the top source of stress for teens? Service can be the answer: multiple studies have found that volunteering can help reduce stress and increase happiness.
As students and teachers head back to school, it’s important to remember how exciting – and how challenging – the first few weeks of a new school year can be. Students and teachers are trying to get to know each other and find ways to make school relevant and meaningful, all while dealing with new Common Core-aligned academic standards and the now-familiar standardized tests. All of this can definitely lead to students feeling stressed!
