SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Program Manager for Institutional Giving oversees the active management of all institutional relationships (government, corporations and foundation), builds organizational capacity by meeting revenue goals, and provides leadership both within the Development Department and as part of the Senior Management Team.
- Oversees all institutional funding relationships, including prospect research and vetting, grant proposals, timely reporting, and pro active stewardship.
- Oversees the coordination and preparations of all institutional grant proposals, including the grant calendar.
- Works with senior staff and program staff to develop proposal narratives and budgets.
- Writes and/or edits grant proposals and grant reports.
- Manages the research and identification of new opportunities for institutional partnerships.
- Manages the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) application process.
- Prepares applications and reports to the Commonwealth for DCED tax credit proposals
- Conducts tours/site visits and coordinates other small events on behalf of Project HOME that cultivate new, and deepen existing, relationships with corporate, foundation and government partners.
- Researches and develops a government grants plan, including possible development of advisory committee and a strategy focused on identifying new public funding sources, potential government partnerships, tax credit opportunities.
- Manages the revenue budgeting and forecasting for all institutional giving, contribute to quarterly revenue reports to the Finance Committee, and participate in quarterly restricted funding meetings.
- Serves as Development Department liaison to project development teams for capital projects.
- Provides leadership and innovation in support of the organization’s operations, mission, goals, and future growth.
- Actively participates in new Strategic Plan process; work with VP of DPR to ensure department goal consistency with long term strategic goals.
- Supervises the Manager, Corporate and Foundation Relations, also charged with cultivating and soliciting all institutional funders, including all grant-writing and reporting to corporations and foundations.
- Supervises the Development Associate, Grants Operations, charged with soliciting funding and providing support to the Development Department for all grants operations, including application filing, outcomes reporting, and data and file maintenance.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Meet regularly with staff to provide support and guidance.
- Minimum of six years progressive experience in development/fundraising including experience working directly with funders and prospect.
- Successful experience attracting national foundation grants, and identifying and garnering government funding.
- Significant experience in grant writing and preparing grant budgets.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and made deadlines.
- Experience in revenue budgeting and forecasting.
- Experience creating and adhering to business plans.
- Minimal need for direction in day to day activities, and comfortable taking initiative.
- Ability to maintain ongoing collaborative relationships with external and internal customers and coworkers.
- Experience in public speaking.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Database experience preferred; especially Raiser’s Edge.
