Report to: Finance Director
The Senior Grants Accountant is a full time, exempt position. The duties required of the Senior Grants Accountant will include, but not be limited to:
Oversight of all grants. Become familiar with all local, state and federal grants award regulations. Supervise, prepare, coordinate and analyze all financial reports for all the organizations grant awards, whether publicly funded or through other funding mechanisms. Make sure that all reporting deadlines are met. Establish relationships with the grantors to assure that we have all of the details of the grants in order.
Responsible for all subsidiary general ledgers. Reconcile all subsidiary general ledger accounts with all submitted financial reports to funders.
Maintain accounts receivable subsidiary ledger and monitor the collection of all monies due.
Assist the Finance Director with maintenance of fixed assets.
Assist in the development of new procedures to enhance the workflow of the department.
Skills required:
- A working knowledge of the SAGE 100 accounting system.
- Ability to work within a diverse work environment and keep a pleasant demeanor while having interruptions.
- Attention to detail
Education and Experience required:
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance or Business Management with an emphasis on grants management. Five to seven years in the accounting/financial reporting areas. Microsoft Office and PC proficiency. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong supervisory, interpersonal and customer service skills. Ability to multi-task; work under pressure; meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced work environment.
