Senior Career Coach, Temple Univ.

The Senior Career Coach will be a key member of the Career Coaching team and will demonstrate a student-centered approach to serve the diverse population of the University. He/she will support the professional development of undergraduate students, graduate students, and alumni. The Senior Coach will coach students in virtual and in person meetings on career exploration, job seeking strategies, graduate school preparation, interview preparation, and networking, among other topics. He/she will contribute to workshop/event coordination and facilitation, both virtual and in person.

This position is the lead point of contact on the Career Coaching team for students preparing for graduate school, current graduate students, and students within the College of Science and Technology and the College of Public Health. The Senior Career Coach will utilize best practices to engage students in the career development process and will support students through the research and application process to graduate programs. He/she will also provide coaching support to graduate students through individual sessions and group presentations. The Senior Career Coach serves as a key convener of the Graduate Career Network, a group of campus colleagues dedicated to supporting graduate student professional development. The mission of the Graduate Career Network is to share best practices to promote professional development within the Temple graduate community through collaboration with graduate students, staff, faculty, and alumni. This group of more than 40 professionals spans a variety of units and roles, all united by a common focus on graduate student career and professional development. In the past, this group has met monthly to share best practices, cross promote events, receive training on supporting student needs, and collaborate on university wide programming opportunities.

The Senior Career Coach will be responsible for the supervision of graduate career coaching interns on a periodic basis. Performs other duties as assigned.

The Temple University Career Center adheres to a hybrid work schedule where all staff are on campus three days per week and work from home two days per week. The Career Center also offers flexible working hours for staff whose schedules are optimal outside of the traditional 8:30am – 5pm timeframe.
