Welcoming Center schedules seminars for immigrant professionals
On March 7th and 8th, in partnership with World Education Services and Drexel University, the Welcoming Center for New Pennsylvanians will hold its first seminars for immigrant professionals.
These events will provide a practical overview of the paths to success in the US job market, including how to get international credentials evaluated, when it makes sense to apply for occupational licensing, why to consider additional credit or non-credit courses at an American university, what to expect in a US professional job interview, and how to prepare yourself as a candidate for professional jobs.
The first seminar will be held on March 7th from 5:30-8:30pm and is targeted to medical professionals, and the second session on March 8th from 5:30-8:30pm is targeted to engineers. Both sessions will take place at Drexel University.
Professionals who have legal work authorization, a bachelor’s degree or higher from a college or university outside the US, and an interest in building a successful American career are encouraged to attend.
