Seminar for Nonprofits on Public Funding

Workshop explores obtaining public funding
On Friday, October 16th, the Association of Funding Professionals Greater Philadelphia Chapter will offer a half-day seminar for non profits organizations on the nuts and bolts of the state and federal budget cycles, describing the various types of public funding and how to pursue each.
The seminar will also review the importance of building relationships with elected officials and their offices and offer participants tips for successfully utilizing and leveraging board members and other relationships.
Speakers include Patty Byrnes, Executive Director, Office of State Senator Larry Farnese and Peter Grollman, Director of Government Affairs, Community Relations and Advocacy, the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. The seminar will be led by Chris Dezzi, Vice President of the Dezzi Group. An open floor discussion will follow the presentations.
The seminar takes place from 9am-noon at the Doubletree Philadelphia, 237 South Broad Street. Cost is $75 for AFP-GPC members and $100 for non-members. For more information, call 215-473-2261.
