SELF Empowerment Coach, Center for Hunger-Free Communities

The Center for Hunger-Free Communities at Drexel University is seeking qualified candidates for the following positions:

SELF Empowerment Coach

The Center seeks a qualified social worker to be the SELF Empowerment Coach to provide one-on-one social work services and case management to the participants in the Center’s programs an well as to co-facilitate the Financial SELF Empowerment sessions of the Building Wealth and Health Network (The Network) program at the Center for Hunger-Free Communities.

The SELF Empowerment Coach will meet with participants as needed in a one-on-one setting to identify and address participant needs, including providing support during emergencies or crisis management. The SELF Empowerment Coach will work with participants to make a plan to address their needs, connect participants with other agencies/organizations to meet identified needs, and document and track each case. In addition, the SELF Empowerment Coach will co-facilitate The Network’s Financial SELF Empowerment sessions. These sessions will take place several times a week with 12-15 participants in each session. The session’s curriculum will blend financial literacy (discussion on basic financial terminology, tools, goals and skills, access to banking, credit and debt management and asset building) and the Sanctuary Model’s trauma-informed tool called S.E.L.F (Safety, Emotion, Loss, and Future). Each Financial SELF Empowerment session will be led by two Coaches – the Financial Empowerment Coach will lead the financial literacy curriculum section and the SELF Empowerment Coach will lead the Sanctuary Model SELF curriculum section.
